Beckhoff EK1521 1-port EtherCAT fiber-optic junction
The Beckhoff EK1521 1-port fiber-optic junction converts EtherCAT from 100BASE-TX copper to 100BASE-FX glass fiber, enabling star topologies and long-distance branches within a terminal segment. Its SC duplex port drives 50/125 um multimode fiber across up to 2000 m between stations at 100 Mbit/s with roughly 1 microsecond propagation delay. Powered from the E-bus at typically 350 mA, the junction operates from -25 to +60 degrees Celsius.
